Some things are more important than winning!!

With 8 players out Cannock travelled to mid table Worcester. Patched up and with more deep heat than boots Cannock knew it would be tough!

Cannock started bright and after 5 minutes took the lead through Gemma Horne’s first goal of the season. Worcester then replied with a penalty to make it 1-1. Cannock regained the lead with a goal mouth scramble by Gemma Wood but Worcester were twice played on side by Cannock’s defence to lead 3-2 at half time.

Cannock re-shuffled for the second half to try and take the game to Worcester. Worcester scored first to make it 4-2 then Cannock had 2 chances to get into the game but missed them both – the reply – Worcester scored on the break to make it 5-2.

The score line could have been greater if it was not for Cannock’s keeper Hannah Waddell who saved 4 one-on-ones to keep the score down!

Even though Cannock’s manager was disappointed with the performance on the pitch, he gave credit for the way the ladies conducted themselves off the pitch.

Cannock’s manager said - “Players will come back, our squad will get stronger and hopefully results will pick up!” He would also like to thank Stacey Mason, Casey Boswell and Vicki Shar as without them Cannock would not have had a squad!
