AGM - IMPORTANT!!

Cannock Ladies FC will be holding their AGM at Cannock & Rugeley Cricket Club on Wednesday 21st May - 8.30pm prompt start.

All committee positions are up for re-election.

If you wish to make a proposal for any changes to our constitution and/or rules, please make sure that both the proposals and nominations for positions are recevied in writing by the secretary 14-days before the AGM.

The secretary's address is: 15 Mersey Close, Rugeley, Staffs, WS15 2HB.

All players and paid up members of the club are expected to attend the AGM as it is THEIR club.

Ladies through to next round!!

Cannock Ladies produced an all round great team performance on Sunday to go a stage further in the League Cup.

New signing Amy Sandall scored twice against her previous club. Some splendid defending from Claire Pemberton, Jenny Clews, Michelle Darby and Nicky Page frustrated the away side at times. Good possession from Lisa Taylor, Sarah Bailey, Lou Hudson and Amy Sandall kept the ball supply for Jo Richards and Laura Bailey for most of the game.

Player of the match, goalkeeper Hannah Waddell, produced some fine saves. Substitutes Lexi Jones, Sarah Jones and Sue Savage all played their part in the second half.

Cannock are away to Shrewsbury Town in the next round.

All players and members of the club wish Chloe Evans a speedy recovery after her recent knee injury.

Ladies make Club history!!

Cannock progressed to the semi-final stage of the County Cup in a dramatic battle with FC Reedswood. Both sides came and played some very attractive football with exciting end to end stuff. Each side showing mutual respect to each other by the spirit in which the game was played.

Being goaless at full time and goaless after extra time the game was going to be decided on penalty kicks. Amy, Chloe, Emma, Laura and Lou all converted their kicks so came down to sudden death. Reedswood missed theirs and it came down to the keeper. Hannah stepped up - calmly and cooly placed it in the bottom corner to put Cannock through to the semi finals, a stage the club has never reached before.

Well done ladies!!

Cannock's unlucky start to 2008!!

The New Year did not start as Cannock had hoped for. They ended losing a game they should have won.

In an evenly matched first half it was the home side who took the lead after thirty five minutes but Cannock drew level just before half time when Sarah Jones beat the keeper from ten yards.

The first twenty minutes of the second half Cannock had most of the possession but didnt convert their chances. Kidderminster took the lead with ten minutes to go. Cannock pushed hard towards the end but couldn't find the net.
